The New Royal Princess lives up to its name
Princess Cruise Lines has introduced a brand new ship–the Royal Princess. The first ship in the new Royal Class, it is beautifully designed, and thoughtfully created to give vacationers a sense of privacy even while on a huge, floating resort. On this new ship, Princess has doubled the size of the atrium, added new places to eat, installed a water and light show in the center island by the pool, and updated the rooms with contemporary decor, 37″ flat screen TVs, and put in adjustable shower heads. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Princess Kate) is the official godmother to Royal Princess and performed the christening honors during its naming ceremony in Southampton, England, on June 13, 2013.
There are TEN impressive features on the Royal Princess.
1. The SeaWalk is a glass-bottom walkway that takes you 28 feet out past the edge of the ship and 128 feet above the ocean.
2. The Sanctuary is an escape for adults where no children are allowed. Be sure to reserve your private cabana that comes with a refrigerator, flat screen TV and a server to get you anything else you want.
3. Want a little privacy at dinner? While sitting at The Chef’s Table Lumiere a soft curtain of light drops around the table to create a soft wall of privacy.
4. Seafood lover’s are going to love the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar which offers sushi, sashimi, ceviche and caviar. It costs a little extra, but worth checking out.
5. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love the Pastry Shop and Gelato Bar. The Pastry Shop is in a separate area and has a full service coffee bar. The Gelato bar opens in the afternoon and you can grab a smoothie, sundae or a waffle cone filled with your favorite flavors.
6. The Enclave at the Lotus Spa is new to a Princess ship. It’s a special room with warm stone beds and a soothing hydra pool that has jetted recliners and a rainfall shower.
7. Fitness fanatics trying to burn off all those calories from all the delicious food options will appreciate the outdoor jogging track that encircles the ship and also has circuit exercise equipment along the way. If basketball is your game, you’ll love playing out under the sun on the top deck on the sports court.
8. Movies Under the Stars just got bigger–the movie screen is double the size on any on other Princess ships.
9. Ready? Set. Action! Live shows will be produced in the Princess Live studio! Watch from your stateroom, or experience the fun of being a part of the studio audience. They will have culinary shows, concerts, comedy shows and game shows–so be ready to participate.
10. The new Deluxe balcony staterooms are larger than standard balcony rooms and have a cozy sofa plus upgraded bathroom amenities. So you can have the luxuries of a suite for the price of a balcony.
