During your day in Ensenada, wine tasting, ziplining, kayaking and fishing are the best ways to discover and explore this beautiful coastal city. CruiseExperts.com has put together our list of favorite things to do while south of the border:
THE TOP 5 THINGS TO DO IN ENSENADA
1. Las Canadas Canopy Tour According to some, the Canopy Tour in Las Canadas Park is one of the best activities in Ensenada. The Canopy Tour encompasses the entire park, filled with suspension bridges, walkways and ziplines. During the winter months, the only part of the park open is the zipline—but it is worth it. It’s an affordable adventure that the young and young-at-heart will go home raving about. Note, the Canopy Tour is not included in the price of admission to the park.
2. La Bufadora, is a marine geyser or blowhole located on the Punta Banda Peninsula. The drive to La Bufadora through Baja California is is an adventure in itself. Once you get there, the walkway is lined with vendors selling all the traditional Mexican favorites like blankets, maracas, and sling shots. Grab some fresh churros or a carne asada taco as you walk around—and don’t forget to see the main attraction!
3. Take the Wines of Ensenada tour. Nearly 500 years ago, the Spaniards brought the first grapevines with them to the Baja region after discovering the climate in Ensenada was perfect for growing wine grapes. Today, Viña de Liceaga is one of the new wineries there that produces some of the best wines in Mexico. The friendly staff and beautiful location make this winery a must for tastings.
Bodegas de Santo Tomas Vineyards is the oldest winery in Ensenada.
Monte Xanic Vineyards offers their guests wine tasting with spectacular views.
4. Baja Blue Diver has everything you need for a day of play. They offer scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, hose diving, hiking trips and bird-watching tours. They know the best places to go for each activity to make your experience “magical.” Plus, they love cruise passengers and want your time with them to be the highlight of your cruise.
