Carnival Cruise Lines recently expanded their craft beer selection on all cruise ships.

Craft beer lovers don’t have to stay on land to enjoy some of the freshest hops in the beer brewing industry. Carnival Cruise Lines is now producing and canning beer aboard two of its ships – the Carnival Horizon and Carnival Vista.

As the first North American cruise line to open beer breweries at sea, Carnival has been at the forefront of producing craft beer at sea. By having a Carnival brewery at sea, Carnival Cruise Line passengers can not only enjoy craft beer on the ocean, but they can also take home a six-pack to enjoy with friends and family once they debark from the cruise.

Carnival Craft Beer Selection

The process for brewing beer at sea is very similar to the methods traditional breweries use on land, but the water for the beer comes from the sea with some mineral adjustments. Beer lovers also have the ability to enjoy a crafted beer while on a beer cruise, which helps set an atmosphere you can’t match with traditional breweries.

By teaming up with Florida-based Brew Hub to produce the Carnival craft beer, the two partners will produce a variety of specialty beers for the beer cruise. The three new beers Carnival plans to can include:

ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat: An orange and spice-flavored wheat beer
ParchedPig West Coast IPA: A hoppy and intense flavor
ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale: Flavors hint of toasted caramel and biscuit

As the first North American cruise line to produce its own craft beer at sea, Carnival estimates it has served nearly 300,000 pints of its private label craft beers to its guests.

With Carnival craft beer prevalent throughout its entire fleet, passengers on Carnival ships can enjoy ParchedPig West Coast IPA and ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale across the entire Carnival fleet.

Beer Cruise Itineraries

When looking for the ultimate beer cruise, Carnival Cruise Lines has the Carnival Horizon and Carnival Vista, which not only offer beer brewed at sea, but passengers can also tour the unique breweries at sea.

On the Carnival Vista, passengers can visit and tour the Redfrog Pub and Brewery, which features live entertainment, table shuffleboard and foosball tables. In addition to the Thirsty Caribbean Wheat beer and seasonal and semi-regular offerings, the Vista will also produce the following beers:

– ThirstyFrog Port Hoppin’ IPA: A hop-infused beer with traces of tropical fruit
– FriskyFrog Java Stout: Provides a dark and rich taste with hints of roasted coffee and chocolate

For brewery tours on the Carnival Vista, tasting tours cost $24.95 and last about an hour.
