The destinations are the world’s longest cruise are truly amazing.
On August 31, 2019, the Viking Sun set sail on the longest cruise in the world. The longest cruise trip on record will visit 6 continents (only Antarctica is omitted), 51 countries, make stops in 111 ports along the way and take 245 days (8 months).
According to Viking Cruises, the impetus for this amazing cruise is to set a new record for the longest continuous world voyage. The world’s longest cruise trip will end when it returns to London in 2020.
The Longest Cruise in the World
The longest cruise in the world is already underway, and the fares started at $92,990 per person. That’s pretty steep price for the average vacation, but there is nothing ordinary about this cruise. It has the most extensive itinerary of any cruise in the industry and nearly twice as long as any other Viking world cruise itinerary.
World-class guest lecturers include archaeologists, news correspondents, and former diplomats. Resident historians and TED Talk screenings are also provided for guests. You won’t find casinos or children on Viking ships, and they have hauled in 10 first place awards this year.
The longest cruises itinerary includes heading up the west coast of Central America and the United States before heading across the Pacific to beautiful French Polynesia, New Zealand, and Australia, home of the kangaroo.
Some of the 111 stops the ship makes will be in Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore, Sri Lanka and India. There will be a passage through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean and port stops in Italy and Tunisia.
