Carnival Cruise Line announced the proposal for a total renovation and major expansion of Cruise Terminal F at PortMiami had been voted on and approved by the Miami-Dade County Commission.
The expansion will be able to support Carnival’s new Excel class ship at the Miami cruise port. The new sister ship of Mardi Gras hasn’t been named yet, but it will be homeported in Miami following its 2022 delivery.
Carnival President Christine Duffy stated, “With today’s approval, we will move quickly on a plan to remodel and expand Terminal F so that it will accommodate the most innovative class of ship to join our fleet.”
As the largest cruise ship operator in Miami, Carnival has more Miami cruises sailing from PortMiami than other cruise lines. The new design and expansion of Terminal F will accommodate Carnival’s largest and newest class of ship as well as its next liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered cruise ship allowing them to offer some of the best cruises from Miami.
