Hi Mary,
Good choice! I will have one of our European river cruise experts contact you to find out more information like when you would like to travel to give you your best options for this cruise. Thank you for contacting us!
We would be interested in a river cruise within the US and/or Canada. We live in Idaho and would like to be able to drive to a river cruise. Can you help?
We sure can help you Goldie! There are actually many river cruises and small ship cruises throughout the U.S. You can take a riverboat along the Mississippi River, embarking in St. Louis, New Orleans, Memphis or Nashville. Or, in the Pacific Northwest, cruise the Columbia and Snake Rivers, Puget Sound and San Juan Islands, or head up to Alaska to cruise the southeast or Inside Passage. American Cruise Lines also offers a variety of cruises in the Northeast and Southeast U.S. There are various theme cruises as well, such as the Lewis and Clark trail, Civil War cruise, Fall Collection cruise and a Mark Twain Tribute cruise. Not many people realize how many cruises there are to offer right here in the U.S. to take advantage of. Please feel fee to give us a call at (888) 804-CRUIse (2784) and we can discuss your options and what interests you the most! Or you can email us at info@cruiseexperts.com.
I have always eliminated river cruises from our list of possibilities because several members of my family suffer from motion sickness. Do you experience more “sway” and movement on the smaller boats used on river cruises?
Thank you, Lynn Banta
Good question,Lynn. Actually, the sway and movement on a river cruise is much less than on ocean cruise. Rivers have a gentler ebb and flow, unlike the big waves and motion of the sea. River cruising would be an excellent option for your family members who are prone to motion sickness. Let us know if we can help you with any other questions or with your travel plans!
